Issue: User recieves a message stating their Windows License will expire soon.
Reason: Somerdale Board of Education utilizes volume licensing for Microsoft products which is managed by the district's servers. When a computer is off the district network for an extended time, the device is unable to check it to get it's periodic update of the Windows licensing. This results in the above mentioned error.
Solution: This issue is easily resolved by simply connecting to the school network and allowing 1-3 minutes for the computer to communicate with the servers. For students and staff that don't come to school everyday (example remote learning), this can by done by simply parking next to the school and connecting to the school network (SPS_Wireless). Please refer to the below map for recommended locations to connect from. Should the student or staff member not feel comfortable doing this process on their own, we encourage them to schedule a technology appointment with our technology team.
